"Even though Whit and I basically grew up in the sport at the same time, we weren't friends until we both discovered cycling. Since that time about 14 years ago, we've done hundreds of rides together all over the country. Whit likes his rides to go somewhere, or to turn into some sort of adventure, which they often do. My favorite line from him before setting out on a new route he had 'discovered' was, 'there is an awesome 20-mile descent on this ride!' Of course, the details about the awesome 20-mile climb were better left unsaid, but yeah, the descents are always awesome!
